Our new Audience Screening Fund provides grants of up to $1,000 for community leaders to organize a local screening of a Subject Matter-supported film. At the event, audiences will learn about a nonprofit working on the issue featured in the film, and will be invited to take action.

Guidelines:
Screening events must be in-person, in the U.S., and free to attend.
Screenings must have the intention to gather 20 or more people to view a film.
Hosts must provide accommodations for guests with accessibility needs.
Hosts must follow the rules of the licensing agreement secured for the Subject Matter-supported film that they will be screening.
Hosts must share information with guests about the corresponding nonprofit grantee connected to the film that they are screening. Information will be provided by Subject Matter.
Hosts must complete a post-event survey following the event, including photos from the event and attendance numbers.
How to Apply
Subject Matter encourages a variety of partners to apply to host a screening, including individuals, nonprofit organizations, educators, libraries, community centers, and more. The Audience Screening Fund microgrants cover the licensing fee to screen the film (ranging from $0 - $500 based on film and audience size) along with funds to cover hosting expenses. Microgrants are awarded on a rolling basis.
Please complete the Screening Host application here and review the host agreement here.
